sadly the violence in the north
has restarted. this road was landmined two days before
us killing a 4x4 driver and seriously injuring his passengers

deep gravel and boulders made this a common sight

the half way point!

heartbroken. hundreds of kilometres of ethiopian bedrock
and the north of kenya take their toll. my bike frame
snaps in half on both sides. a technical write off
and possible end of trip. our lowest hour.

in no mood to appreciate the beauty of the north.
contemplating how to scrap my bike legally.
